This is a beautiful antique Victorian dome topped mahogany sewing work box, or jewellery box, with inlaid decoration to the edges. There is a vacant cartouche to the lid, and the lock and hinges are original (and in good order), but the key is missing. Internally there should be a tray which divides the compartment into two sections, but this is missing. A few little pieces of inlay are missing from the edges, but the overall condition is very good. It measures approx 11.25" (28.5 cms) x 7.5" (19 cms) x 4.375" (11 cms).
