Description
This a beautiful antique carved statue from a local estate. I am not an expert, but I believe it is jade. The stone is soft enough to easily scratch. My camera flash makes the stone appear a bit lighter and brighter in color than it does when viewed "in person". Nicely detailed both front and back.
It is 9 3/4" tall, 7 3/4" x 5 1/4" at the base. The base shows age wear. There are small chips and flaws to the statue, most noticeable are the tips of two fingers being broken, and some breakage & wear to the back of the crown. Also some over-all small dings that may or may not be natural flaws. I pictured the artwork from all sides so that you should be able to see the condition, and fine carving, for yourself. I don't find the age flaws to be distracting, but add character to the old statue.
