Two Antique Cantonese Embroidered Export Fans dated to around 1890/1900 - for restoration or spares
The first fan is larger and older. It is made of plain bone sticks and a single gauze leaf embroidered with a dragon. The upper part of the right guardsick shows a carved rose. The fan measures approx. 10" long and 19" wide at its widest point. The fan is in good condition, but sadly is missing its left guardstick and its rivet (see photos). The leaf is in very good condition with the exception of minor age staining and three tiny tears (see photos).
The second fan is smaller and comes in its original box. It is made of carved and pierced bone sticks and a single gauze leaf embroidered with a flowers basket and a butterfly. The original double tassel is still attached (needs attention). The fan measures approx. 8.5" long and 16" wide at its widest point. The fan is in need of repair or can be re-used for spares. It is missing the tip of the right guardstick and the leaf has separated in two places (see photos). The leaf also shows some minor age staining and three upper bone sticks suffered losses (see photos). The box is in excellent condition.

Packaging and postage within Europe including the UK via Airmail will cost £3.90 (ca. 5,00 Euro) , overseas £4.20 (ca. $US 8.00).
Please note insurance is required for all items above £20. I gladly combine items to save postage. Please note that I charge actual postage costs and recycle all sorts of packaging to keep the buyer's and my costs low and fair. I do however prefer to ship large fans and items in new poster rolls to avoid damages to the items. These cost on average £0.50 which is money well spent to protect the items. I accept PayPal, Sterling cheques and International bank transfer, but preferably in Euro. Please await my invoice before making a payment.
