Antique C19th Victorian cabinet key Bridge Ward lock type (#K16)
You are buying a genuine and very collectable example of an antique iron cabinet/padlock key. Earlier keys are becoming hard to find. This one comes from an unsorted small accumulation that is new to the collector market.

Probable use: Cabinet; Jewellery casket
Bow Type: Heart Bow (from c.1840) NB distorted
Length: 4cm
Pin Type: Hollow
Maker’s Markings: None observable
Condition: Very collectable (appropriate usage wear NB the bow is twisted but shoulkd straighten with care), very little corrosion (obviously kept indoors) for a c.150 year-old item. Key does not appear to have been cleaned or restored in any way.
Origin: Said to be from stable office of an early Victorian town house. No further information on origins or specific use.
