Antique Bookcase – Victorian Satinwood Inlaid Display

This striking antique Victorian satinwood inlaid display / bookcase ca 1880 has a rectangular cross banded top with boxwood and ebony string inlay. The bookcase has two glazed doors with a brass slam strip, key and working lock and the interior has its original green baize lining and two removable shelves with ebony string inlay. The piece has a shaped apron with tapering legs and spade feet and is decorated with beautiful intricate painted swags in the Hepplewhite design. Only the finest furniture was constructed from satinwood and the bookcase is a striking rich golden satinwood colour with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
