In superb condition this 8.5 inch diameter carved wooden cake stand has a Swiss musical movement set in its base and a edelweisse and gentian themed carved design. The movement is in reasonably good order, and when wound up will play a short tune as the stand is lifted to serve a guest! Tune is Das Lied der Heimat and Es herzigs Meiteli, release trigger is sometimes a little temperamental, and as always with older movements one should zealously avoid over winding!
No chips or cracks, will benefit from light waxing, but we leave it to the purchaser to decide just how light! Surface is very good, with only the lightest of blemishes from the passage of the years.
This is a fragile item, and shipping costs reflect the need for adequate protection!
