This superb book is entitled THE ENGLISH HUMOURIST by W M THACKERY, and was printed in 1853 by BERNHARD TAUCHNITZ LEIPZIG.

It is a hardback covered in vellum with superb illuminated decoration in gold leaf. It is in very nice used condition, exceptionally clean inside, and the cover is also very good with just very slight damage to top of spine. Really visually stunning antique book, which would grace any collection.
