A very interesting copper alloy buckle from the Anglo Saxon period
I believe it dates from the 7th century
It was recovered from ploughed land about 20 years ago using a metal detector
I did show this to my local museum at the time and they said it was Anglo Saxon and each eye socket would have contained a small stone or garnet
With 3 very clear animal heads and patterns on the top between the heads
The pin is original
In very good overall condition although the bar is cracked right through at one end
Pictured with UK one penny and US one cent to show size
Insured postage only
