This is a small 6thC Greek Aryballos from Corinth (in my opinion) decorated with Hoplite warriors set within a petal border to the top and lined decoration to the lower section of the vessel. There appears to be traces of another Hoplite to the base of the vessel, but I cannot be certain. The decoration has degraded over time and burial. There has been an honest museum style area of restoration to the disc rim as can be seen the the photographs. The Aryballos comes from the Ex Ian Auld collection and was acquired between the 1970`s-1990`s. The vessel was sold by Bonhams in April of this year and was illustrated within their catalogue. It has been in my personal collection and is being sold due to a shift in the focus of my collecting.

The aryballos is bought as seen, dating is the vendors opinion only, the buyer is responsible for any customs duties which maybe relevent. Payment will be through a nominated Paypal account to be notified at the end of the auction. Payment to be recieved within three days of the auction ending.Please note due to Industrial action by Royal Mail staff in the UK receipt of the item maybe delayed.
