Its difficult to know where to start when selling such a rare vehicle, I built this in 2005, never thinking in a couple of years I would be selling it, so someone will certainly benefit from all the hard work I've put into creating this unique amphibian and these don't come up very often. This is a series 2 Amphijeep kit car, kit manufactured by Amphibious cars Ltd based in Littlehampton. This one was a kit I built myself, due to its unique colour and specification it was a special order and took a very long time for delivery. The company builds fully built turn-key cars for over £39,900 based on a Suzuki jimny if you were to buy a new one.
The donor car was a 1992 Suzuki Samurai 4x4 jeep (sj413) which had only one previous lady owner and had covered only 25,000 miles in 13 years. It took me ages to find such a low mileage vehicle which had never been used for off roading so the condition of the body and mechanics was not short of pristine, I wanted the best and most reliable mechanics money could buy. I have a full selection of photographs from when the body was delivered, each stage of the build, right through to the SVA test and finally some of the first water trip I had.
The majority of the fixings underneath including the exhaust are stainless steel and everything else that isn’t has three coats of paint – a primer and a bottom and top coat of marine gloss, so it is built and can be used in the sea although I do only use it in the river Medway myself. Every nut and bolt was assembled by myself, it took me months and months to build this and thousands of pounds to get it as it looks today. Its had its SVA and first registration in Decenber 2005 and took an age related plate to the donor car 'K' but as all the parts were used from one donor vehicle a personal registration plate can be placed on this vehicle which is something I would have done if I wasn't forced to sell it.
You really need to see this vehicle if your interested - and if you seriously are, I have no problem spending some time with you showing you round the vehicle thoroughly and taking you for a water test. Iif you have any questions, Email and I will get back to you normally within 24 hours. I'm initially putting this on ebay but if I dont get any interest I will be placing it in the Kit Car magazine. I'm located fairly close Maidstone in Kent and regularly use the river medway on a nice day. I'm selling due to business venture in the middle of the year and capital is needed.

DRIVING TECHNIQUES |
|
On land the car drives just like a Suzuki. The jet steering is permanently coupled to the "road" steering so to drive into water simply follow the instructions.
- Turn both bilge switches to "auto" (normally always kept in "auto").
- Put foot on clutch (car can still be rolling forward i.e. down a slip way).
- Engage jet clutch lever.
- Take foot off clutch and drive or roll down to water.
- When in water put foot on clutch put transfer box lever (marked black) into neutral and gearbox into 3rd and off you go.
- Water speed is controlled by the car accelerator pedal.
- To reverse put gear lever in reverse and transfer box in 4H.
To leave water
- Put foot on clutch and engage transfer box lever (marked black) into 4wd and gearbox lever into 1st.
- When wheels touch land take foot of clutch and drive out of water.
- Put jet clutch lever into neutral.
- Whilst driving, dis-engage foot clutch and move transfer box lever from 4 low to 2 high and off you go, it is recommended that you drive with the brakes lightly on for a few 100 yds (100M) to warm them up (this will stop them sticking if you park and leave the handbrake on)
