This is a very fun read and includes the stories of collisions .... City of Lowell. She, if you recall it, is the Providence steamer that took a shy at us on the Coast Guard destroyer Porter, only to miss her and ram the evening press reporters on the destroyer Wilkes...

I heard a representative of one of the news agencies estimate that there were 500 yachts present. This was exclusive of the thousand or so Coast Guard destroyers and rum chasers which were keeping the yachts in line.......I should have told the estimator about the runabout with two half drowned souls and the Sea Sled with a crew of three, and then my own "Hotspur" with Rigg single handing her...."

suggestion: The photos of the boats on page 2 & 3 are so outstanding, it would be an idea to have the article reproduced at a quality photo lab and have the photos of the boats mounted by a framer, what a great and rare display piece that would be.
