WHY BUY FROM ALIENOCEAN?

You would be buying a kit from one of the longest established independent ebike sellers in the UK. I know what the drawbacks are in many electric bikes, weight, battery technology, quality issues etc. and with this kit I think I've eliminated pretty much all of them.

The kit is well proven in the UK market with hundreds of happy customers and I've tried to keep it at a price which I believe is extremely good value without cutting corners.

THE KIT

Convert your own 26" wheel bike with this Front Wheel Drive 36 Volt 10Ah BRUSHLESS Road Legal Lithium Ion Conversion Kit.

With the Battery Pack and Controller mounted behind the seat on an integrated rack and a 250 Watt Brushless Motor providing power to the Front Wheel, this kit is for those people who want to have just that little bit more power.

And, unlike some other kits you may have seen, the price INCLUDES the 36v 10Ah Lithium Ion battery.

The kit and especially the battery pack is very lightweight and, because it's front wheel drive, you can utilise your own multi gears without having to fiddle around, as with a rear wheel conversion or even worse with a chain drive conversion, trying to get everything to work and fit.

And, unlike many electric models which have the controller mounted low down, this bike has the Controller assembly mounted behind the seat to suit the British weather a bit more!

Of course, with the rear carrier and pannier supports you can also carry as much stuff as you like so the kit is extremely practical as well.

The kit comes with everything you need to convert your bike including the Li-Ion battery and battery charger and full and detailed instructions with easy to follow pictures!! (Took the pictures myself so no strange "lost in translation" Chinese words either!)

although you can pedal faster and you may get a bit more from the kit due to "inaccuracies" in the controller electronics and the fact that the controller is U.S. spec.)

Notes: The width required between the fork tabs to allow the motor wheel to fit is 100mm. You then need a minimum of 85mm between the fork legs themselves. The kit is primarily for V brakes as there is no integral fitment for a disc. Bar diameter for fitment of throttle is standard 22mm. If you have thumb shift gears and the brake levers are separate to the thumb shifts I would recommend fitting the new levers as they cut the power to the motor when applied. However, if you don't want to fit them then there's no technical need but it is an EU legal requirement. Incidentally, the 36v kit adds about 8Kg all in to your bike.

ADVANTAGES OF THIS KIT

It has easy to follow instructions from someone who's put together complete bikes and kits which have been on sale for nearly two years - please see past listings and feedback. I know what the drawbacks are in trying to convert bikes so with these kits I've eliminated them as much as I can.

I've chosen a front wheel conversion rather than a rear wheel or chain conversion because you are then free to use your existing gearing and the complete back end can stay as it is. The controller is enclosed in the same bracket assembly which is used to hold the battery so it's up high and away from most of the British weather.

However, because this kit uses a rear mounted battery carrier rack it has been impossible to design a universal fit. Some bikes have lugs on the frame below the seat for mounting the carrier arms, some don't. You may therefore need to be somewhat mechanically minded to fit this kit and you may also need additional fittings such as nuts and bolts over and above those supplied.

Oh, by the way, another advantage - try getting backup or support in 6 months time from somebody in China!

ADVANTAGES OF LITHIUM ION

Li-ion batteries are lighter than other equivalent batteries and MUCH lighter than Lead Acid batteries. They do not suffer from memory effect and also have a low self-discharge rate of approximately 5% per month, compared with over 30% per month in nickel netal hydride (NiMH) batteries.

However, to preserve your lithium-ion battery it should be charged early and often so when you come back from a ride, simply plug the bike into the charger regardless of how much power you've used.

The Battery Management System, integrated into the charger and the controller, will take care of how much charge the battery needs. Please note that if you're going to leave your bike for a long time then charge up the battery every now and then to ensure that the battery charge doesn't fall to too low a level.

I provide a twelve months guarantee on the controller and motor and on the battery subject to conditions. You will download a set of instructions when you order. This includes a section on how you MUST take care of the battery to ensure your warranty remains valid.
