Limited First Edition Book (1250 copies) of The story of the first Solo Atlantic Sailing in 1876 by 29yr old Danish born Alfred "Centennial" Johnson a halibut fisherman from Gloucester,Mass. He sailed 3000 miles in a 16 foot Grand Banks dory, against all the odds survived a shark attack, weathered a hurricane, 70ft waves and lived to tell the tale. Read the remarkable story of the "Lindbergh" of the sea, America's forgotten hero.

The colour chart found at the back of the book shows the course sailed by the "Centennial" on it's record breaking crossing during the summer of 1876, retired sea captain, Capt Charles Dickman kindly plotted the course using the original navigation tools of Alfred "Centennial" Johnson. Charles is the grandson of the great man.
