A bottle of Thomas Hardy's Ale, "the strongest beer in Britain". Bottle (33cl) numbered 03827 of a limited edition, brew inaugurated on 15th September 1982 to mark the completion of the Centenary Development of Dorchester Brewery. The beer was made available on 7th November 1983, exactly 150 years after Charles Eldridge held his inaugural dinner in Dorchester. The neck label gives the information that the beer "will mature in the bottle for at least 25 years if stored at 12 degrees C". The bottle is complete with it's dedicatory label.
The owner bought the bottle in 1983 and has kept it in cellar conditions since then, but cannot guarantee that the temperature has always been 12 degrees.
