Although VHS is the accepted standard throughout the world, there are three distictively different types: VHS NTSC is used in the U.S.A., Canada and Japan. VHS PAL is used in most European countries, notably UK. VHS SECAM is used in France. Unless stated otherwise, the VHS tapes that I sell are VHS PAL and will only work on either PAL or dual standard (capable of playing both PAL & NTSC) VCRs. Most of the bigger manufacturers (Sony, Panasonic etc) have been making dual standard VCRs for years. If you are unsure whether your VCR is dual standard, please refer to the instruction manual. I do not take any responsibility for format incompatability errors and refunds/replacements will not be issued to those that have bought one of my PAL format tapes in error. Obviously, if one of my tapes is proven to be genuinely defective, either a replacement (where possible) or refund will be given. |
