Brand new, sealed and unbuilt.

Fantastic kit of the Avro Lancaster which is very well moulded and fits together without any troubles.

 

Developed from the Avro Manchester, the Lancaster was a British four engined heavy bomber that entered service in 1942. The Lancaster Mk I was powered by Rolls Royce Merlin Engines and the Mk III was powered by Packard built Merlins.

The Lancaster was armed with eight 0.303 machine guns and typically carried 14,000lbs of bombs although it's maximum capacity was 22,000lbs. 

Famously, converted Lancasters were used on the Dambusters raid as well as using Tallboy bombs to sink the Tirpitz. However, it was it's nightly sorties over Germany that earned the Lancaster the reputation of Britain's most successful bomber of World War II where an estimated 156,000 sorties were flown, dropping over 608,000 tons of bombs with the loss of 3,249 aircraft.
