Fantastic kit of the American F-86 Sabre best known for it's role during the Korean War. 

The F-86 was developed in the late 1940s and was an adaptable front line fighter. Over 7,800 F-86 were produced between 1949 and 1956 where it served as the primary air-to-air jet fighter used in the Korean war against the Soviet built MiG-15. The F-86 could out turn the MiG-15 although the MiG-15 was superior in ceiling, acceleration, rate of climb at least until the introduction of the F-86F.  The F-86F had a larger engine, a larger "6-3" wing and was armed with six 0.5 inch AN/M3 Browning machine guns capable of 1,200 rounds per minute of armour piercing and armour piercing incendiary rounds.  

Much of the success of the F-86 is attributable to the American pilots being experienced WWII veterans against the North Koreans and Chinese who had less combat experience. The same pilots had less success when matched against Soviet pilots.
