Eat the real thing not western copies

Tom Ka Gai (coconut chicken soup) Is great soup that is also a good introduction to Thai cuisine.

With a fushion of coconut, chicken, lemongrass and mix of other spices of which you add a little chilli if you wish to give it that kick, it makes a great dish on it own or accompanied with other dishes.

A favourite of many tourist in Thailand.

This is normally served in a bowl for everybody to share with each person havingtheir own plate of cooked rice to compliment it.

 

This packet consist of 50g of paste, which is created from a blend of

Salt, Sugar, Vegetableoil, Spices, Galangal, Lemongrass, msg, and citric acid

Recipe Chicken Tom Ka
 
Step 1
Before you start submerge the packet in hot water for 1min . Cut open and the paste will come out easy!
Boil 1 cups (240ml) of coconut milk. Add 300g of diced or sliced chicken together with this packet. Cook until well done. 
 
Step 2
Add 2 cups (480ml) water. Simmer untill chicken is tender.
 
Step 3
Add one more cup of coconut milk (240ml) and 100g of mushrooms. Bring to the boil and its ready to serve.
 
Step 4
Add fish sauce (or salt) and lime juice to taste. Serve with jasmine rice.
