Catalogue of the remarkable Tay collection of Straits Settlements stamps and postal history. All the rarities of the Straits Settlements up to the end of the reign of Queen Victoria were to be found in this outstanding collection. The pre-stamp material includes the earliest known letters to and from the Straits Settlements. The adhesive period includes superb India 1854 lithograph issues, and very rare usages of the 1855-64 East India stamps. The later issues include essays, proofs, colour trials and specimens. A magnificent catalogue of 285 lots; well illustrated in black & white and colour. No prices realised.
