ARTS & CRAFTS COPPER BOX

THIS IS A LOVELY EARLY 20TH CENTURY COPPER COVERED BOX....

...PRESUMABLY THEY WERE ONCE USED TO HOUSE SOME SLIPPERS. THE LID OF THE BOX HAS 'SLIPPERS' PUNCHED OUT & PRETTY SWIRL DESIGNS IN TWO CORNERS OF THE LID. THE BOX IS COVERED IN BEATEN COPPER WHICH HAS TARNISHED BEAUTIFULLY OVER THE YEARS. IT HAS PATCHES OF GREEN/MALACHITE VISIBLE, WHICH ADDS CHARACTER AND CHARM. THE INSIDE HAS A GREEN FELT LINING, WHICH HAS SEEN BETTER DAYS. IT LOOKS LIKE IT GOT A LITTLE DAMP AT SOME POINT IN IT'S LIFE, AND SMELLS A BIT MUSTY, THOUGH NOT UNPLEASANTLY SO. WHATEVER USE ONE FINDS FOR THIS LOVELY BOX, I KNOW IT WILL LOOK PERFECT IN THE RIGHT SPOT, WHETHER IT IS USED FOR SLIPPERS OR NOT!
