ART NOUVEAU FRENCH DOOR LETTER BOX FLEUR DE LYS SIGNED
Rare and original Art Nouveau era French 'LETTRES' heavy cast iron letter box.....signed either 'J.& F' or 'J.8 F'.....which could possibly be attributed to the 'Fournier' ironwork foundries.....only a suggestion! This ornate 'LETTRES' box has graceful, sweeping Art Nouveau curved motifs and fleur de lys in each corner and middle side ends. There is 'fluted' decoration surrounding the apperture and 'ball-like' motifs above. Offered as seen with a fabulous naturally accquired patination from the passage of time which I absolutely adore, but it could probably be cleaned up by someone with the right 'know how' if a brighter finish is preferred. I have no idea how to fit a letter box, but the backside still has it's screws in place and although one of the screws that holds the 'flap' in place has worn through the metal, it's as solid as a rock. Air mail shipping to Europe £4.64 with delivery from 3 - 4 working days. Surface Mail shipping (Worldwide) £4.59 with delivery expected in approximately 8 weeks. For shipping costs to other countries, please email for information. The above shipping costs include insurance up to £39.00 GBP in the event of loss or damage only...it does not include the refund of shipping fees. A higher level of insurance can be purchased if required. Please Note: I have a 99.9% record of successful deliveries both within the U.K and overseas.
