MOVEMENT
This is a traditional German manufactured movement by Thomas HALLER. It's a 3 train high polished large brass movement original to the clock with thick plates and pinions. This movement was a pleasure to service. This clock chimes Westminster (Big Ben) on each quarter with 4 very long gong rods with a deep tone and hours striking accordingly to the time on a further 4 longer gong rods (8 total). The chimes can be silenced if need be by a cord. The movement will run for approx 8 days before a winding is needed - just pull up the weights. The weights and pendulum look great. The pendulum has no dints at all and the weights have a couple of minor which are not really noticable. Time regulation can be achieved by adjusting the large Chrome pendulum bob. It's keeping perfect time and has been regulated by myself. The pendulum swings very widely - it's relaxing to watch and listen to. The movement has been completely stripped and checked, hand cleaned and polished, reassembled, adjusted, oiled accordingly and of course tested.
DIAL
Original beautiful dial in the cinema art deco style, rather special infact with a matt finish and chrome plated arabic numerals which are large and clear. Classic deco hands. Flat glass to the dial.
CASE
This case is of great proportions and a solid piece. Removable seatboard and movement - This enables the chimes to be adjusted. The front door has three long pieces of glass which are very attactive indeed through which you can see the 3 chrome weights and pendulum. The base of the clock stands on four wooden feet. The clock case is in good condition for it's year as can be seen on the photos, a good clean case in original condition.
