This is for a beautiful original mint condition art deco sterling silver and guilloche enamel compact from 1929. I dont often describe anything as mint, but this looks like it was bought yesterday. It has a fabulous English garden scene in the enamel and there is an iridescence and sparkle from the engine turned design that is under the enamel, this alters as you tilt the compact in different directions and this makes for a fabulous sunlit effect. Inside is a mirror under the lid and it has a rich gilt wash to the base and bezel's. It is clearly hallmarked to Birmingham 1929 with the initials GS for George Stockwell. It is in absolute pristine A1 condition with no chips or cracks, no dings or dents and flat shiny smooth enamel with not even the feintest scratch on it...you wont find a better one anywhere. It measures 62mm in diameter.
