Designed as a no-compromise solution for audio and AV systems, the FMJ P1 monobloc Power Amplifier is the ideal partner for the forthcoming C31 Preamplifier or the FMJ processors.

The P1 is the ultimate expression of Arcam’s ultra wide bandwidth power amp design, built to take full advantage of the latest high resolution audio formats such as SACD for two stereo music and Dolby TrueHD and DTS Master Audio form home cinema. Its extremely low noise and distortion, together with a wider audio bandwidth mean the P1 is ready for the challenge of these newer formats with a total harmonic distortion of just 0.003%.

The flagship P1 is unquestionably a class leading power amplifier. Its circuit design is elegant and innovative and uses plated through circuit boards with surface mounted components. The whole amplifier is dc coupled from input to output with absolutely no capacitors in the signal path. The power supply is built around a substantial toroidal transformer, giving a continuous output power of more than 170 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 250 watts into 4 ohms. The power amplifier has a fully symmetrical high current output stage and novel current feedback loop which dramatically reduces harmonic distortion. Put simply, the P1’s technical specification is state of the art.
