This is a pretty little piece of old Arcadian crested china - a model of a thatched cottage bearing the coat of arms of COMBE MARTIN. It is beautifully made with clever detailing and finished off with gold gilt trims round the roof, door, windows and chimney. It is fully stamped on base with the old crowned A&S Arcadian China stamp of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. A very pretty and eye-catching little crested china cottage.
The base has had some restoration done (back right hand corner) but because of its position is not terribly significant and the actual cottage is perfect. Apologies for photo flash reflection! The base measures just over 3 inches by just over 1.5 inches and the whole piece measures just over 2.5 inches in height.
