AQUILEGIA / COLUMBINE "Caerulea - Blue" 300 Seeds A large upright variety standing above deeply cut light green foliage with white petals and unusually showy spurs in a stunning powder blue. "Coerule" is Latin for "blue". One of the easiest and most rewarding Perennials available producing long spurred blooms from late spring to early summer. Best grown in a sunny to partially shaded location, with a humus rich, slightly acidic soil. Height 75cm. · Sow under-cover from 4-8 weeks before the last frost through to Jul, cover seeds very lightly with vermiculite and expect germination within 2 - 6 weeks at 15 to 20 °C. · Transplant and grow on gradually acclimatising to outdoor conditions. Seeds sown late will over-winter under glass / cover. · Aquilegias will readily re-seed and can be sown direct to borders or in wild / natural grass areas. · Feeding is unnecessary unless the soil is exceptionally poor. An aquilegia should not need staking, but an overfed plant will flop. We source the majority of our flower seeds directly from the same growers as the big companies, rather than wholesalers, giving you exceptional value and the freshest seeds you can buy anywhere. These are hand selected seeds of the highest quality and purity, dispatched in high quality padded packaging to ensure they reach you in perfect condition. Germination IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY - Please note seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, watering, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. Although we do everything possible to get seeds to you in the best possible condition far exceeding legal requirements and will provide as much help as possible, these factors are totally outside of our control and once you receive the seeds its over to you.
