RARE ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ROUND BOTTOM IRON No. 1

WONDERFUL COLLECTABLE 19TH CENTURY HAT MAKERS? IRON, POSSIBLY USED FOR SHAPING THOSE FANCY VICTORIAN HATS, BICORNS AND BOWLERS?

MARKED WITH MAKERS MARK J&JS, ALSO No.1. ON HANDLE: RD N 573 - so registered in 1884, when registration began!!!

IT'S MADE OF CAST IRON, INCLUDING THE HANDLE, AND IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION.

MEASUREMENTS:

4 1/2" 11.5cm long

3" 7.5cm wide at back

4" 10cm tall approx.

THIS IS A TRULY RARE AND UNUSUAL VICTORIAN IRON, VERY COLLECTABLE, AN ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL FIND, OF INTEREST TO COLLECTORS OF IRONS,  VICTORIANA, ETC.
