ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BAMBOO MIRRORED HALLSTAND/c1900
This is a large Victorian hallstand which is made out of lots and lots of pieces of different sized bamboo, ranging in size from very large pieces which form the framework, down to smaller pieces, some of them curved, which make up most of the decorative areas in between. The top has an oriental style pediment, below that are 6 coat hoods - 4 made from pieces of bamboo with gnarled tapered ends (not sure if this is part of the bamboo plant or not) and 2 made from bits of bamboo in a T-shape inserted into the upright poles. In the centre is a bevelled bamboo framed mirror, and below that are the sunray spindles above the area where you put your brollies or sticks. This is an unusual and very decorative piece, and is in very good condition apart from a few minor blemishes and scratches and marks here and there.
Measures: 80in (202cm) high x 30in (76cm) wide x 9in (23cm) deep.

At Frockabilia / EurobiliaUK.Antiques we have one simple aim; to sell good quality antique pieces at competitive prices. .
We are located near Hampstead Heath in Central London; we sell small to medium sized pieces of period furniture and collectables, mostly items that we consider to be useful in the home as well as decorative. We hope that if we love them, then so will you. They range from the Georgian, Regency, Victorian, Art Nouveau, Arts & Crafts, Edwardian and Art Deco periods. .
Most of our items are Antiques and minor blemishes are normal due to age (Some items are over 100 years old, so perfection is impossible). All auction descriptions are honest, accurate, detailed and have many pictures, if the item has a flaw we try to show a picture so you will know exactly what you are bidding on. But please remember that there is normal wear and tear, and it is not always possible to show that. We take a great deal of trouble over transporting our items, whether they are large or small. The large pieces of furniture, which go by road, are carefully handled by expert delivery drivers and the smaller pieces are packed very carefully, with lots of packing materials - the more fragile they are, the more packing and care they receive.
