ANTIQUE VASES PAIR ROSE & BUTTERFLY DESIGN C19TH CENTURY Super pair of antique vases, most likely dating back to Victorian times. They measure approx. 10” tall. To be honest, I can't tell if they are made from glass or porcelain. I suspect they are glass, but because they are opaque I can't if they are blown, and the base is hollow so there is no pontil mark. If you have any questions that might help clarify I will answer to the best of my ability. They are both decorated with intricate designs of roses and a butterfly perching on a nest. They are not in perfect condition. There is some 'foxing' to the black glaze, which has left the surface rather speckled and one of the vases has had a repair to the base, it is pinned underneath and is missing its gilt trim. However, having said this, none of the 'blemishes' are blatantly obvious and these vases would still look imposing on any sideboard or mantlepiece. A lovely decorative pair and well worth bidding on. Please note: these are fragile and weighty items that will need packing with extra care. This is therefore reflected in the postage cost. Postage quoted is for the UK. If you would like them sent elsewhere, please ask for a price. Please also be aware that, at the time of listing, there is an ongoing postal dispute. I will let you know when your item has been dispatched, but there may be some delay in delivery times. |
