ANTIQUE SILVER NATHANIEL MILLS CASTLE TOP CIGAR CASE A wonderful antique English, solid sterling silver castle top cigar / cheroot case by Nathaniel Mills; with hinged lid, vacant cartouche beautifully repoussé decorated with flowers and scrolls, and depicting Windsor Castle to the front and another stately building to the back.
A high quality, sought-after and wonderfully ornate case - fabulously collectable!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Slight signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Slight holing to detail on lower part, cartouche is later addition (probably initialled underneath).
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: English hallmark for B'ham 1839. Maker's marks NM.
DIMENSIONS: 5 inches long (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 80.2 grams.
