Antique Oak Cuckoo Clock Mantle Case For Restoration

This is an antique oak cuckoo clock mantle case without movement for a possible restoration project.

The cuckoo house lives on top of the case which houses a cuckoo with articulating wings and beak.

One top finial is missing; the other finial along with the cuckoo house has separated from the case and needs re-gluing.

A pair of bellows resides in the case and both work/coo.

The case would have housed a spring driven Black Forest movement.

The moldings on the case appear complete and in good order.

There may be toothed/decorative moldings missing on either side of the cuckoo house.

The case measures 14½ inches from the base to the tip of the finial on top of the cuckoo house. It is 8 inches wide at the base and 5 inches deep. The dial aperture is approx. 2 and 7/8 inches in diameter. The back door opening is 6¾ inches high and 4½ inches wide. The cuckoo house is 2 and 3/16 inches wide and 2¾ inches deep. The case weighs 890g.

A worthwhile project, particularly if you have a movement to suit.

The case is in good overall condition with no woodworm.

Any item can be collected by mutual arrangement to save you postage costs. With cheques for large amounts we will not post goods for 7 days. A certificate of post is obtained for everything so if there are any delays, please let us know.

If any item received is not as described, please let us know. We will refund in full, including your return postage, once the item has been returned.
