ANTIQUE GLASS PERSIAN TEAR CATCHER 19TH C VERY RARE Superb antique Persian glass tear catcher or rose water sprinkler, dating back to the 19th century. It is made from turquoise blue, handblown glass and has a crudely finished pontil. It is decorated in the Venetian style with hand painted flowers with gilt trim. It measures approx. 12” tall. It has a long slender neck with a twisted effect. The top of the vase is eye shaped and by all accounts you put your eye up against it to catch your tears when you were in mourning. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or fleabites. This is an extremely rare item and would make a terrific addition to any glass collection. Well worth bidding on. Please note: this is a fragile item that will need packing with extra care. It will also require extra postal insurance, and these things are reflected in the postage cost. Postage quoted is for the UK. If you would like it sent elsewhere, please ask for a price. Please also be aware that, at the time of listing, there is an ongoing postal dispute. I will let you know when your item has been dispatched, but there may be some delay in delivery times. |
