For Sale: A stove from one of the best and most famous French stove makers... Deville of Charleville. It's a multi-fuel stove and part of the Lily range of stoves, it's called the ' Hiver ' and is the big brother to the Lily sized ' Lilyver ' so therefore a medium large antique French stove. The size difference is almost entirely seen in the depth of the firebox, used with coke this stove will keep in overnight with ease, and then a little longer too.
Finished in a handsome golden brown with high gloss enamel, typical quality from deville in the 1920's & 1930's. It's also well designed, made and proportioned. The firebox in general is excellent and all controls work properly and smoothly, the stove appears from an external examination to be just about ready to go.
The fuel flap under the lid requires a new seal, the central ceramic brick would benefit from sealing. The locking catch for the fuel flap doesn't turn, this must be released before use. There is an ancient crack in the inner top cover (under the lid) (see photo 6), the repair is also in an ancient style too. On close examination we can find no signs of smoke leakage.
Although the service items are minor we prefer to make the buyer aware that unless a stove has been serviced or restored there are always minor details that require attention.
A smashing stove with superb enamel from a quality manufacturer, to be sold in it's ' as found ' condition it therefore it starts at 99p with no reserve.

This stove sale is part of a much larger relocation sale which continues all this week with another batch of stoves listed here on eBay. We are having to re-locate to another building within the Rayleigh complex where we hold our UK stock... the more stoves and other stove related parts we can sell before the move the fewer we have to move!! So here are a number of bargain stoves for sale as we prefer to sell our stoves rather than move them.
From the 1 November until the 8 November we are selling 60+ ' as found ' French, Belgian and German antique stoves direct from our storage in Rayleigh, these will be at sale prices . There are around 50+ other stoves at Rayleigh which will remain at our usual prices plus a few of our own collection which are not for sale. You are very welcome to visit us at Rayleigh on any of these dates and take a stove or two away immediately. Anything at Rayleigh can be listed immediately for you on eBay with a Buy It Now if you wish, it's no problem.

Please remember that all our vintage and antique stoves are at least 50 years old with some more than 100 years old and should be viewed as such. Some have pitting, chips and even cracks, many may have sat in barns for the last 40 years, but it is a testament to the original manufacturers and the subsequent care taken with them that they survive today.
