Dating from the late 1800s this antique French handmade handkerchief pocket is a shabby chic boudoir treasure. Made of fine delicate pure silk and trimmed with fine lace and a hand worked border it is tied with a black silk ribbon.

One side is stronger coloured than the other where it has sat in the light for many years;  the inner quilted silk lining has become tea-coloured with age.

The silk is all intact with no holes or patches of wear.

A simply delicious ,old timeworn textile piece.
