ANTIQUE ENGLISH GOLD TURQUOISE PENDANT by BROGDEN 1880
A superb quality antique English, solid high carat gold revival style pendant; beautifully made, with finely worked twisted cable and bead decoration, finely textured and set with terrific turquoise cabochons. With its original fitted turquoise-set bail, and a glazed locket compartment to the back, easily accessed.
A very beautiful pendant by one of the great names in antique English jewellery!
CONDITION: All original and very good. Slightest signs of wear, a couple of very light dents to the back and to the bail, trace of old solder to bail pin, nothing of any consequence.
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1870/80. Maker's marks JB on applied plaque (John Brogden).
DIMENSIONS: 30 mm diameter (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 12.9 grams.
