ANTIQUE ENGLISH GILT COMPASS CHARM FOB CHARM WORKS 1900  

A terrific antique English, gold cased / gilt charm or fob; beautifully made, with an engraved shield to the back and set with a working glazed compass to the front.

Tiny, very attractive and so very collectable - perfect for any chain or charm bracelet!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Signs of wear to gold commensurate with age and use. Compass needle spins freely and appears to work fine, may need re-magnetising to be accurate. Could do with a light clean.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1890/1900. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: 28 x 24 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 4.6 grams.
