ANTIQUE ENGLISH 15K GOLD PEARL LOCKET PENDANT c1860   

A lovely quality antique English, solid 15 carat gold (tests thereabouts) locket pendant or charm; beautifully modelled as a leaf, with 3d body, wonderful textured surface and vine embellishment, and set with terrific lustrous baroque pearls. To the back is a glazed locket compartment containing a textile backing panel and is easily accessible by a jeweller or handy person. Will have originally have hung from a hair bracelet or similar.

A high quality, distinctive and beautiful locket - immensely wearable!

CONDITION: All original and very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Wants a clean.

DEFECTS: None.

DATE/MARKS: Around 1850/60. Not marked.

DIMENSIONS: 23 x 15 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.

WEIGHT: Approx. 2.1 grams.
