ANTIQUE DRESDEN ADOLPH HAMANN/DONATH COFFEE CAN AND SAUCER c1883   Here is a stunningly beautiful antique Dresden china coffee can and saucer by Adolph Hamann/Donath, circa 1883.                         Adolph Hamann/Donath were famous for recreating and decorating pieces in the Meissen style.           This cup and saucer has a hexagonal panel-like shape and is hand-painted with Deutsche Blumen, naturalistic flowers, either separately or loosely tied in bouquets. This type of decoration was introduced by J. G. Horoldt at Meissen, circa 1740, and derived from engravings illustrating the works of the botanist, Johann Wilhelm Weidemann. The cup and saucer are lavishly hand-gilded.   The cup measures 2 ins (5 cms) high and 2 ¾ ins (7 cms) across including the handle.
