The Vikings traveled throughout Europe including the British Isles and gained from the technology of all the cultures which they encountered. They were very involved in grooming personal appearance and adornment and used beads extensively. Viking finds in may areas show large numbers of beads compared to other artifacts. This is a Viking bead dating to about 900 AD. This is a rare deep yellow example, 8.8 mm diameter (over ¼”). Yellow is often encountered, but opaque yellow is very rare. Condition is as shown with surface erosion from burial. VJK107
