AFRICAN AMERICAN quilts are so often FABULOUS ABSTRACT pieces, created to be functional, but in the creating they turned into a WORK OF ART! Using scraps from feedsacks, old clothes, whatever she had on hand, the maker started with no plan, but using her God-given artistic talent and a sense of the beautiful in her soul, she gradually added pieces until they formed what we now call a masterpiece.

FEATURES: DRAMATIC DISPLAY QUILT in excellent condition! Bright colors contrast to the black ties and black snake trails. There's lots of black, red, and yellow to be found in this quilt, very symbolic colors in African American hoo-doo culture. All cotton, thin and lightweight, entirely hand stitched. A fabulous display quilt!
