An attractive  19th century decorated poker work spinning chair. The chair is beautifully decorated with a pair of facing  stylised goats' heads that are part of a classic design incorporating leaves and swirls similar to very intricate wrought iron work. The design is outlined in poker work and then hand painted with coloured wood stain rather than traditional paint. The chair is in a traditional spinning chair shape with a tall back with a heart shaped hole and a hexagonal seat,standing on four turned legs. I have been told the chair is possibly Northern European, the measurements of the chair conform to the exact centimeter rather than inches, which seems to confirm it's continental origins. 

Size:just under 35 1/2" (90 cm) top of back to floor, Just over  21 1/4" (54 cm) top of back to seat,
the seat is Just over 10 1/4" (27 cm) across. Condition: the chair is in good condition, the design on the back of the chair is is very strong and clear, the seat is worn through 100 odd year of use which is normal for a piece of this age and adds to it's authenticity.

Collection: The chair can be picked up in Fulham London SW6 which is near Chelsea football ground It is on an industrial estate so there are no parking or loading problems and is outside the congestion zone.  There are no problems arranging an out of office hours time for pickup over an evening or weekend as we live quite nearby.
