This microphone is designed for Journalists, Newspaper reporters, Radio reporters in the field, Musicians, Students etc. and is ideal for interviewing and getting that all important 'Sound Bite'. It is also great for recording meetings, lectures, concerts (always remember to ask permission first), dictation or even learning a foreign language. In fact anywhere you need to make recordings with the minimum of fuss. It is designed for use by amateurs and professionals alike.
The Microphone is absolutely tiny, measuring a mere 25mm in length. It plugs directly into your recorder so there are no trailing wires to get tangled up. You just plug in and away you go. It is equally suitable for use with Minidisc, portable DAT recorders, MP3 recorders and Laptop computers. In fact it will work with any device that has a 'Plug-In Power' microphone input connection (not suitable if you only have a line input).
This microphone will also work with iPods when used in conjunction with a Belkin universal microphone adapter. It is also suitable for use with digital camcorders that have a 3.5mm microphone input (must be 'plug in power' compatible).
The microphone element used is a very high quality back electret condenser manufactured by Panasonic which gives a very smooth extended frequency response and improved signal to noise ratio. For the technically minded the manufacturers state the typical frequency response as being 20Hz to 16KHz +/- 1dB. I have measured the frequency response myself and have found that it extends well beyond 20KHz which makes it the ideal choice for digital recording,
This microphone really does give a superb account of itself and ofers true hi-fi performance making it absolutely ideal for both speech and music recording.
The design also features an integral windshield which makes this microphone ideal for outdoor applications. Other lesser microphones advertised on eBay will perform poorly in windy conditions.
The microphone body is all metal, very rugged and has a gold plated plug to minimise the signal transmission loss and accurately deliver the original sound. The body is actually manufactured by Neutrik, a name well respected in professional audio circles .

Thanks a lot for getting the mic to me, arrived today.
Already done an interview with it. In many ways it is even better than the "Audio Technica", (which is of course ten times the price) it has a "rounded audio pick up field" whilst the "Audio Technica" although described as Omni directional, "loses it" if one person is speaking into it and the other opposite starts responding before the mic is moved to that direction. This little wonder is like a JELLY TOT on a stick, so unobtrusive and with a wonderful response and tone. For general recordings I shall certainly be using this one most of the time from now on - with a mini disc recorder. It is ideal for Press Conference and "Round Table" recordings, just sit it in the middle of the table (on a soft cloth to avoid motor noise)...and chat.
I have a meeting with some colleagues tomorrow and I will be bringing this to their attention.

Please note that not all portable MD recorders have a microphone socket. On most recorders the socket you need is coloured red and marked 'Mic (Plug In Power)' or similar. If you only have a socket marked 'Line In' or 'Optical' coloured white then you cannot use your recorder with a microphone. If in doubt it would be advisable to check the recorders instruction book to confirm compatibility prior to bidding.
