AN ELEGANT SOLID SILVER CIGARETTE CASE BIRMINGHAM 1923












Description

An elegant solid silver engine turned cigarette case.

The case was assayed in Birmingham in 1923/24 by the silversmith Joseph Gloster Ltd.

The case measures 8.5cm x 7cm and weighs 88g.

Condition is commensurate with age, some pocket wear, minor dings, a tiny surface crease to one corner. The case is also missing its elastic strip which held the cigarettes.

The cigarette case closes firmly and the hinge remains in perfect alignment.

There is a monogram to the top on a raised cartouche which reads RDM.

A nice heavy example at a very reasonable price reflective of condition.
