Hi! Up for auction today is a dvd documenting The Allentown Pinball Wizards Convention 2007 which begins on Friday morning, May 4th, as the first pinball machines are being set up. The first game covered is a rare Zaccaria Ski Jump EM pinball machine, with a sound card! Later in the show, a Zaccaria Nautilus EM pinball machine is also seen in action. Both are quite rare!
A couple other rarities featured during setup time include not one but two 1959 Williams' woodrail pins: Sea Wolf and Spot-Pool. Sea Wolf features a disappearing bumper and backglass animation and Spot-Pool features a score reel in the center of the playfield.
Once the doors opened on Friday, at 4 pm, it was time to see many more pinball machines in action, including: Gulfstream, Pat Hand, San Francisco, Pin Wheel, Count-Down, Lightning Ball, Easy Aces, Mousin' Around, and a really rare Williams pitch and bat: "Official Baseball", featuring a pitcher on the playfield that literally throws the ball at the bat!
Saturday coverage includes more pinball, featuring Swing Time, Butterfly, Skill Ball, Family Guy, Popeye, Rocket Ship, Air Aces, 3 Coins, Strange Science, Batman Forever, Strange World, Tom Tom, Ro Go, Austin Powers, Gold Wings, Spring Break, Gilligan's Island, Star Trip, Flipper Cowboy, Supersonic, Space Time, a Ten Strike solid state manakin bowler, and a Strike Master dot matrix shuffle alley.
Also shown is a brief look at the P3 Tournament, and two flea market vendors are interviewed: Todd Tuckey of TNT Amusements and Pat Goebel of The Pinball Guru.
But wait. There’s more! Also included for the winning bidder is a is a 32 minute dvd which documents a pinball flea market, sponsored by Classic Pinball, which took place in Wayne, NJ at The Wayne Elks Lodge on Saturday, August 5th, 2006. Various pinball machine, parts dealers, and fans are interviewed from PA, CT, NY, and of course, New Jersey. Some of the vendors interviewed include Todd Tuckey Of TNT Amusements, Doug Huse from Let's Play Pinball, and Bruce Nightingale, Jr., who was offering for sale, The Pinball Lifter. During the show, as the camera was rolling, we were loading a Gottlieb Flag-Ship woodrail with a missing side rail into my vehicle, and the playfield glass fell onto the pavement but did not break! This is something you probably don't see everyday.
Pins you will see in action include Nightmare On Elm Street, Flipper Fair, Hyperball, and Kick Off, the last Bally electromechanical pinball machine, made in June, 1977.
