Alice's Adventures in Wonder land was first published in 1865, and Through the Looking Glass in 1872; they were written by the Reverend Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (1832-1898) under the pseudonym 'Lewis Carroll', and they were originally illustrated by John Tenniel of which there are 92 illustrations in this Edition.

Alice herself emerges from Lewis Carroll's dream-world, as a child of today's world, encountering wonders that remain as curious and unique as ever.
