If your air flow meter stops working then so does your car.

The air flow unit is just a mechanical hinged inlet, the meter is just a sensor that lets your ecu know whats happening.

The component that senses the airflow is called a potentiometer.

Dont replace the whole thing just replace the meter with this sensor.

All you are doing is simply replacing this sensor with a chip that will tell your ecu that it is recieving more air.

In turn the ecu pumps more fuel into the enjine.

The air flow unit will still let in air whilst this chip tells the ecu that there is air coming in

so the engine gets more fuel and in turn it sucks in more air to enable it to burn the fuel.

If you have an induction kit this will work even better as this gives you almost unlimited air flow.
