Agapanthus 'Torbay' - 20 seeds

Torbay is a free flowering and hardy form of Agapanthus, producing mid-blue flowers in Summer. It comes true from seed, although resultant plants should be referred to as 'ex Torbay' to differentiate from vegetatively propagated plants.

 Prefers a well drained but moist soil in sun or part shade.

Sowing Instructions:

 Sow anytime from Autumn to late Spring on to the surface of moist seed compost in a seed tray or shallow pot and cover with approximately 3mm of sieved compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or cover with polythene to maintain humidity. Keep at 18 to 20c and germination should take place within 30 days. Maintain a temperature of 10 to 15c after germination, in a well lit position avoiding direct sunlight. Autumn/Winter sowings will need to be kept at a minimum of about 7 degC after germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 3" pots and grow on in a greenhouse or sheltered spot. Once established, plant in final position and do not allow to dry out for the first few weeks.

Our Seeds:

All seeds are freshly sourced from reputable suppliers, or collected from stock plants on the Nursery and stored under controlled conditions. The seeds we sell are the same seed we use to produce plants for sale (approximately 25% of our sales are from seed raised stock).

All the varieties we sell are garden-worthy plants. Most of the varieties we sell are easy to grow, given suitable conditions, and in most cases will produce good sized flowering plants within a few months or less.
