I was born and raised in Nigeria following my father's posting in the forties. My family went on to live in Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania visiting many other African countries and over this period collected many tribal arts. THIS "PHEMBA" STATUE WILL HAVE BEEN MADE FOR A WOMAN WHO HAD LOST A CHILD AND WISHED FOR ANOTHER.
A KNEELING WOMAN WITH TWO HUMAN/CHILD FIGURES, A SNAKE AND GLASS EYES.
