"Aeroplane Maintenance and Operation Series, Volume 5: Aeroplane Engines (Part 1)" was a wartime publication, first published in 1940, although this is the 1941 reprinted edition. This manual covers three engines produced by Armstrong Siddeley - the "Cheetah IX", "Tiger VIII" and "Lynx IVc". Detailed notes on overhaul, inspection and repair are accompanied by some 70 line illustrations and black and white photos. Hardback, approx 9x6.5" with 120 pages. This is an old, ex-library book with an impressed stamp on the back cover. The dust jacket has some wear and small tears, with a clipped corner, although the original price is still there (7/6 Net). There is the remnant of a library book plate on the inside front cover and the first page has been cut out. Inside is generally very clean and tidy. In good condition overall. Published by George Newnes Ltd in 1941.
