ABU 506 Closed face reel (Absolutely Mint) - 3 Spools

If you enjoy river fishing and like to cast easily and effortlessly ''one handed'' while you feed the swim with the other hand, strike a bite instantly and also enjoy tangle free fishing especially in windy conditions then this  ABU 506 reel is just what you are looking for.

These reels were first made around the early seventies this ABU 506 Serial N0L/1P-752, is in a Absolutely Mint condition.

This Abu 506 reel has been in my collection for a long time and has had literally no fishing use (used just  twice) and as you can see by the photo's is in a mint cond, you will do very well to buy a ABU 506 in a better condition anywhere.

Everything about the reel is top class the paint finish is almost unmarked, there is no damage at all on the reel seat, and the rest of the reel body is mint, there are one or two very small marks on the reel, you might be able to see these in the photo's.

 The reel metal cowl cover has a few very light marks, which are really negligible, the ABU 506 badge on the side plate is unmarked (No damage to the Letters) the inside of the reel is completely spotless, no traces of dirt or rust.

Most importantly this reel works as new, the back wind has not been removed, so you can use the reel as it was ment to be used. (The pin can easily be removed if you prefer to back wind) The pick up is sharp and instant  and the pick up pin has no wear.

Really this ABU 506 reel is about as new as you can get, it looks new and handles like a new reel.

The benefits of using this type of reel are, very fast casting, just press the release ring and cast (no tangles) instant pick up of the line on striking a bite (no messing with bail arms) these reels are unbeatable in windy conditions. they also have a clutch system which allows line to be taken by a large fish, you just hold the reel handle, the tension is adjusted by the knob on the reel handle. 

These Brilliant ABU 506 reels can be used for many types of fishing.

They were originally designed by the match anglers for river fishing, and are seriously unbeatable for trotting the river for Roach dace chub ''ect''

Other tackle firms have tried to make similar closed face reels, some are ok, but none come really close to these superb ABU 506 reels.

It is now the time of year for great river fishing ''especially roach'' and many rivers in the country are again experiencing top class roach fishing.

Fix one of these reels to your carbon rod and really enjoy what river roach fishing is all about. 

Many anglers use these reels for (Light spinning for small pike and perch) and with sensible breaking strain lines 4/8lbs, it is very enjoyable.

ABU 506 reels in this cond are now very difficult to obtain, and those anglers who have one of these reels in a good condition are very reluctant to part with them.

You will not regret having this reel once you start to catch fish using it, and if you take care of it then you will own a reel that will only increase in value.

 The reel comes with (3).... spools, one is a plastic match spool, the other two spools are alloy which are fitted with a cork and plastic arbour which saves putting to much line on the spool.

The spare spools are contained in a ABU red plastic case, these cases are also collectable.
